The review looked good with many four and five star posts. That , and the sample first chapeter, enticed me into reading this amateurishly written, crude and shallow crime novel.The characters , settings and style were simple and shallow, and the dialogue risible. The mandatory sex scene early in the book , inserted to set up a blackmail thread, was nasty. I swiped past to try to get imto the story , only to find that I had wasted my money and did not want to also waste my time.I have purchasedAn excellent novel centered on blackmail and corruption at the White Collar level. Different stories of people roped in to criminal acts to keep their personal lives out of the public eye. Many surprises await the reader.
Peter Ralph is one of my favorite authors for his complex plots with unexpected twists and his multi-dimensional characters. After a complicated set-up, the story is distilled into three innocent and likable people at the mercy of and being manipulated by bad guys and good guys alike. Help comes from surprising directions, and Mr. Ralph demonstrates that the difference between good and evil is just a matter of perception. I highly recommend this book. I found it hard to put down as I got closer
Fast paced and gripping.This was my first book written by Peter Ralph, won't be last. According firms, insider trading, blackmail and Serbian mob. FBI and SEC trying to find out who's responsible. Full of twists, you won't be able to put it down.
A corker of a thriller!I hadn't previously read any of Peter Ralph's novels before picking up 'White Collar Blackmail', but after this fast-pace cracker, I will definitely be reading more in the future. The plot is a compelling one and develops at an ever-increasing pace, right up to the shocking conclusion. Peter Ralph is a great thriller writer, be has excelled even himself with 'White Collar Blackmail'. The plot may be a little complex for some, but I was really fascinated by the dark side of the financial world. The 'Wolf of Wall Street' took a more humorous look at the dodgy dealings in the high finance world, but don't expect any of that here. This a great financial crime thriller that will keep you page turning. Fiction but could very easily be a true story will all the financial fraud and crimes in the world today. This was a well written book with an engaging storyline and interesting characters. A great book. I purchased a copy but also received an advance copy from the author. This book has it all financial fraud, the mafia and lots of surprises.
